PERSONALITY
Negative

Reckless: In pursuit of something he wants or needs, Dominic can be reckless with his actions - more so with regards to himself and his personal safety but sometimes other people can get rolled up into it too. He knows his limits, his weak spots and in turn his strengths so when he throws himself into something recklessly he's pretty confident at that point he knows exactly how to get himself out of a dangerous spot. And if he fails, he - well - he knows he'll get another chance down the road. Can't always be said for the people around him, hence this being one of his less charming traits that he gets a lot of shit for.

Stubborn: Dominic is prone to being a little bit pig-headed when it comes to decisions and doubling down rather than admitting he's wrong. He'd much rather dig in his heels and go a few centuries without speaking to someone rather than face the music over something he did, for example, but this stubbornness does have its limits. He just needs a little time to mull over the pros and cons first.

Self-centered: Dominic isn't the most selfish guy you'll ever meet, but he does definitely take a few minutes to consider what he'll get out of a scenario before he commits to it. You going to pay him off well, give him something he wants? He's not made of favors, you know? He knows that in order to survive he needs to make sure he's always thinking ahead and keeping himself afloat, and there are rarely any excuses to do anything for free - it's how you appear weak, after all.

Positive

Determined: Once he's got it in his head to do something, Dom won't stop until he meets that goal. He takes pride in accomplishing said goals and doesn't take failure along the way as much of a deterrent. He will put himself in harm's way at the drop of a hat, doing whatever it takes to cross the finish line. It ties in with his reckless and stubborn behavior but for a more positive end. Most of the time.

HISTORY
Somebody or something has it out for Dominic, by virtue of always fucking with his life. A life that he keeps on living despite any roadblocks that try to get in his way. See, it's been a while since he first found out he was afflicted - with a curse, a blessing, whatever the hell you want to call it. The years have come and gone since the first time he died - and the first time he was brought back three days later, trying to make excuses for why he didn't stay dead and buried. It was a lot harder back then and at the same time, oddly easy, depending on where he was and who happened to take notice.

Death hit him the first time when he was in his early thirties, and that's about when his body stopped physically aging. He died with his arms around his lover, the two of them skewered with arrows. It'd be a tragic story if he didn't pull himself out of the mud three days later, a good distance from home, making it back a month later to be treated like a ghost. He had no idea how he survived, how he ended up on the coast, so he kept it to himself. Sought a little revenge, got himself back on the road and from there it's history.

Literally. Time goes on and on when you keep reviving, each death lending you a new immunity to its cause. He discovered some time later that his lover was afflicted as well, when they reunited as two lost souls. Two lost souls now immortal, who hung together for several decades before having a pretty lousy fight and splitting ways. He may or may not have done some shitty things and deserved being dumped but now he's adamant about making amends. But you try finding someone when they have the power to shape shift and don't want to be found by you, having run off somewhere in the world.

So he's trying to track them down again but also just trying to make it along as he goes. Dominic made a name for himself in shady dealings - enforcement, interrogation, information dealing and a hell of a lot of con artistry. He currently works contracts for a group aptly named the Syndicate (seriously, they could afford some originality) in New York and travels around as needed for different jobs.

ABOUT DOMINIC
Ambidextrous. Mildly dyslexic. Likes Saturday cartoons.

Dominic has the ability to traverse through and manipulate the dreams of other people. He is able to influence dreams (and nightmares) to be as real or surreal as he desires, and or to simply witness and interact with what someone else's mind drums up on its own. His abilities do not cross over into the 'real' or waking world, and when he is influencing someone's dreams he himself appears to be asleep, however he does not and has never dreamed himself. The closer he is to a target the easier it is to delve into their dreams though he can tap in from a distance, he just may need to navigate other peoples' streams of consciousness along the way.

Aside from dream-influencing abilities, Dom has been uniquely gifted/cursed with an inability to die. Each time he experiences a unique death, he revives within three days and becomes immune to that method of dying from then on. Should he experience a repeat method of death (ie. drowning) he will simply heal or revive near-immediately at the soonest opportunity and carry on with his day. This will follow Duplicity rules in that each revival will take longer and longer until they match up with in game death and that event related death sequences will happen as laid out in game rules.

Dominic also has a healing factor that only majorly plays a part in healing him from methods of repeat-deaths, as for example he will heal rapidly from a burn should he have died from one already but will heal from sprains, broken bones and other ills at a quickened yet more natural pace.
